I liked the texture and shape of the buds (? dunno... these brown things in the photo below), so I took a quick pic from a set of stairs.
It is always entertaining to watch the boats in the locks, and the bright yellow and clean lines of this tug boat seemed like an interesting subject.
To my right, we had the tugboat. To my left was a gentleman arranging stuff on his bicycle. I don't know why, but something about this man reminded me of my dad. Maybe its the beard, maybe its his body structure, maybe because I was in the land of Norwegians, but there was just something about this guy that struck a chord with me. Partly, I wonder what my dad would be like as an old guy :) would he have been the kind of old dude in a city park on a bicycle? Oh well, best not to dwell.... There was way too much grass in the foreground, so I cropped in without regard to print size.

Fishies! A few weeks ago, I googled "antique photo processing" watched an informative video or two and have started to take some baby steps in a new processing technique. I didn't do any layers (sorry man, I forgot... sigh.) so this is just a pretty simple edit. I liked the way this turned out, though!

As lovely as the locks are, the photographic opportunities have their limits, eh? We headed over to Golden Gardens for some sunset frames. Check out the lovely lighting! The pic below is just a good, 'ol unedited jpeg from my d80.

There is a clump of trees that always captivates me. It was actually a pretty challenging frame because there were two other photo shoots going on in the same spot. Funny. I like the spidery branches contrasted by the sunset, clouds and blue blue sky.

Well, thanks for checking out this round of pics & belated Happy New Year! I hope that twenty-ten treats you well and allll that good stuff.
