Out Like a Lamb?

How does that saying go... March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb? I always thought the lamb reference meant that the weather would be mild and lovely. Well, this year March is like a lamb because of all the darn snow, dang it. Sunday marked my fourth hike to Rattlesnake Ledge, but only my first real adventure along the trail that continues past the popular hiking destination.

Narnia
Once past the ledge, this, uh, was the trail. Isn't that awesome? Fun, huh?!? :)

Lori Vista 2009

On my very first trip up here in the summer of 2006, I took a shot from this vantage point. I still have it framed & set on my bookcase.

East Peak
This spot, though, was uncharted territory for me. This pic was taken from East Peak, looking towards the Ledge. I fiddled a bit with the paint bucket tool.

Meltna

Spring's warming sun appeared mid-afternoon, and the melting snow kept catching my eye. I am not sure if you can see it from this post, but the big droplet on the branch has a bit of a sun spot/sun ray action going on.

Snow Pine
I love the shiny snow clusters on this branch. I did a bunch of editing to bring out the colors and contrast.

Thanks for checking out my pics! With any luck, there will be many more hiking pics throughout the spring :)

p.s. OH, dma & butcher, my thanks for the hiking invite! Keep me posted on future photoshoots... I am always happy to tag along :)
