one shot wonders

Wow... it has been a busy couple of weeks! One of the downsides of blogger is that you have to do everything online... arrange the photos, input text blah blah blah. Oh well, it isn't a perfect system. Although I haven't been able to blog as frequently, I have still been busy with pictures!

I am calling this post "one shot wonders" because they are each one shot taken from the past few weeks adventures.

hottest day ever
I took this photo as I was waiting in traffic on the hottest day EVER in Seattle. Ugh. It was so hot that not even the AC in my car offered any relief. I wanted a way to document the day, and found the pattern of the car shadows to be quite interesting.

lincoln park
This one was taken on the beach in West Seattle's Lincoln Park after a trip to Art Wolfe's Soho gallery. Its a pretty spot, no?

Table for ...?
This photo might be out of order? I dunno. It was taken at a restaurant near Pike Place. While the cuisine was, um, not so good, the atmosphere was fabulous. I took a quick pic of the table next to us, because I was drawn to the set up. It reminded me of a still life. The room was full of soft, romantic lighting and the original photo had a very red tone. When I converted it to black and white I fell in love with it even more. As I gaze at this photograph, I wonder how much history has taken place in this very spot. How many conversations has this table hosted? Conversations of love; conversations of business; coversation of wine; conversations of travels near and far? Its mind bottle-ing.

fall colors
There was one fine summer day when Del and I were on a quest to document fall colors. It seemed odd to have leaves changing colors in the early part of August.... shouldn't this still be time of sprinklers, bbqs and flipflops? We ended up on the University of Washington campus, a great location anytime of year ;)

hopscotch crosswalk
This one was taken on a recent trip to downtown Edmonds. Man, this place closes up early! I saw a hopscotch in chalk on one of the sidewalks and HAD to take a picture.

bothell sunset
After the stroll through Edmonds, we ended up at a wetlands park in Bothell. The sun was setting, and looked so pretty behind the tops of the wetland grasses. I did a bit of editing to bring out the subdued sunset colors.

westlake swing
random. random things just happened to pop up. I guess that is the nature of random :)
I am not sure if this was a group lesson or a demonstration or just a fun dance in the park, but anyway, there were a bunch of people dancing outside of Westlake Mall in downtown Seattle. I managed to get just a few frames before the music stopped, and liked this one the best.

Hope you enjoyed this group of pictures! Thanks for checking them out :)
